What does it mean to be seen? How does it matter in our lives? In the age of social media to be seen is a priority for many but in fact none of us can escape the temptation of posting a selfie or even a group photo to share with the world when we are experiencing a lovely moment. However, to be seen is a concept that exists long before the intervention of the digital age. What does it mean to be seen? How does it matter in our lives? A state that supports our identity, emotions, physical presence contributes to validate who we are and motivates us to engage with and respond to the world. Feeling seen infuses us with energy and sparks the emotion of coming alive. How others see us depends on our attitude in everything we do and clothing has the potential to increase our confidence and how we carry ourselves every day. Each morning, as I enjoy my cup of coffee, I start thinking about what I will be wearing. I look out of the window and in my head plan what combination of colors, fabrics and styles will suit my day´s schedule. For me, fashion is a means of expressing my true self, every day and in every occasion. I believe that clothing allows us to cultivate version of ourselves that are primarily satisfying to us. Regardless of the choices we make as long as it feels right, whether it's a color that complements the eyes, a style that creates a flattering silhouette, or a soft, luxurious sweater, clothing serves as a shield from the hostile elements and also has the power to enhance our mood, experiences, and the intentions that we deeply care about. Unfortunately, the language of fashion often prioritizes aesthetics over real purpose, trends over longevity, and gimmicks over quality. This is something I strongly dislike! When I stress the importance of ‘being seen’, I mean that wherever I go, my attire speaks not just for myself but for all the women I represent. As a woman and a designer, having the chance to engage with other women of all ages is a true privilege. That's why I value the materials we use and the care we take as a brand, to create a timeless and comfortable language.
Nothing is more gratifying than the affirmations received when you are wearing something and you are noticed, and even more gratifying when a stranger approaches you and compliments you on how nice you look and asks what you are wearing. These are the stories which only strengthen my will to persevere and keep providing special clothing that is both appreciated and admired by women. To me, age is not necessarily young or old in years, and clothing should motivate all women to contribute to the representation of womanhood that is empowered also by what she chooses to wear.
