Timeless as defined by the Oxford dictionary is something “not affected by the passage of time or changes in fashion.” As we often say when describing our clothing and our aesthetic, there is a timeless quality to everything that we do in our design process.
We are unaffected by “trends” as we tend to believe that our clothing has a quality to it that defies time and is therefore enduring in its appeal. We listen to the feedback from our clients and friends and are always encouraged when we hear stories of something being worn from years ago and mixing it with something they just purchased.
There is no expiration date on our clothing. We define our clothing by its ability to be worn from year to year and to always look current, uninhibited by the latest editorial trends or the length of a skirt or a sleeve.
Clothing which has the label MATTHILDUR or MxM is to be treasured and worn with pride, as it is designed with the woman who is wearing it in mind. We are in synchronicity with our customers as we are in touch with who we design for.
That perfect Alpaca Suri Sweater you have been wearing for years, looks wonderful with any of our Gabardine Skirts or Pants, they simply do not go out of style, since they are not intended to be discarded. We follow the same approach with our Pima Cotton Jersey which is most definitely our signature fabric and besides our sweaters has been the backbone of our business for the last twenty two years.
Slow fashion, which takes an ethical and sustainable approach to manufacturing clothing, has always been part of our DNA. Our choices for every garment that we produce, takes into account how the garment will be worn by the end consumer and most importantly, the quality of the fabric and the timeless, non trend driven ethos which goes into the design.
We take our time in the design and production process so that our clothing will truly stand the all important test of time.
